Glass Ceilings: But Still, History Has Been Made
“But still, history has been made.
Be proud of your vote.
Be proud of yourself.
You are strong. You are resilient.
Have faith that you will move forward, continue to organize, to fight for your Rights, and your beliefs, and do it with integrity,
And always with love.
Take deep breaths loved one.
Please be kind to yourself, and to those whom you might consider to be
“The Other,” or your rival in the battle that we’ve all just endured, because at one Time or another, we all are capable of being classified as “The Other.”
Of course: listen to your sadness. Shed your tears. Scream your anger into a Pillow. Go to the gym, for a walk or run; do whatever it is that relieves your stress Or pain.
Pray to your God, or ask your Buddha for guidance.
Meditate on what is going well, and right for you, and share your vulnerability with Loved ones, because you are alive.
You’re still here.
Be angry and embrace your pain, but please don’t take your anger or pain out on others, or blame them.
Some will Troll you, Pick on you, or Gloat about their so-called Victory over You. But be mindful not to swallow their fear or negativity; after all, you still are a Winner. Why? Because, sweet soul, you showed up. You showed up with Integrity, and love, and good will toward others, even if they were not so kind Along the road to where we are today, as Americans who’d benefit from working Together to move forward.
Start over. Pick yourself up and March on. March on. March on.
There will be more elections. You have the willpower to rise up and actively Participate.
So, continue putting democracy into action. Every vote counts—your role in the Process is important.
And finally, please trust that there will be more glass ceilings to shatter.
As Someone I’ve admired for a very long time, and admire that much more after this Political cycle has said, we are #StrongerTogether.”
